Thanks to the generosity of donors like you, CWS has been able to respond quickly to the devastation left behind by Hurricane Helene. The storm has claimed 66 lives, displaced thousands, and caused extensive damage across the Southeast. Entire communities have been left without power, homes have been destroyed, and flooding continues to wreak havoc on families trying to rebuild.
Because of your support, CWS has already distributed over 2,360 Emergency Cleanup Buckets and 2,000 Hygiene Kits to help families begin the difficult process of recovery. But the need is still great. Our inventory of Cleanup Buckets is now critically low—down to 833 in our inventory–and we need the help of generous people like you to continue meeting the urgent needs of those affected by this disaster.
Your donations ensure that CWS can be there when disaster strikes, providing essential supplies and long-term recovery assistance. As Zach Wolgemuth, Director of the CWS Emergency Preparedness, Response, and Recovery Team, shared, “The true challenge will come in the months and years ahead as recovery is a long journey. With your continued support, we will walk with these communities every step of the way.”
How You Can Help: We invite you to continue this vital work by contributing to the CWS Emergency Response Fund or supporting CWS Kits. Your generosity will help replenish our supply of Emergency Cleanup Buckets and provide the resources needed for the long-term recovery that lies ahead.
